DNA-fingerprinting and analysis of genetic diversity in plants

On the basis of an analysis of last achievements in molecular biology the author considers the methodical approaches to investigation of genetic diversity in high plants. The great attention was devoted to the DNA-fingerprinting and sequencing methods. The comparative estimation of polymorphism revealed on DNA level, isoenzymes and storage proteins in plants seeds was presented. The main properties of molecular markers used for the analysis of genetic diversity in plants were listed. The further trends for use of molecular markers in genetics and plant selection were discussed.
