Official crimes of employees of law enforcement agencies in 1918-1919 (based on the materials of the Simbirsk provincial revolutionary tribunal)

The article is devoted to the analysis of the Simbirsk Provincial Revolutionary Tribunal investigations of official malfeasances of law enforcement officers in 1918-1919. The author has touched upon a current social problem related to obtaining benefits through abuse of official authority. In the times of the building of the new state apparatus, the designated problem acquired an unprecedented scale, due of which the staff of the tribunal were tasked to investigate cases related to official misconduct of law enforcement officers in revolutionary times. The analysis of archival materials, namely the cases accepted for consideration by the Simbirsk Provincial Revolutionary Tribunal, allowed to conclude that employees of the emergency justice body attached great importance to bringing cases of official malfeasances of law enforcement officers to trial.
