Donation in the public opinion of Russians: a regional aspect

The urgency of the problem lies in the insufficient number of organ donors in Russia due to the low awareness of citizens, the lack of a positive image of donation and insufficient support from the state. We conducted a sociological study among the population of citizens of the Russian Federation. The results of the study show that there is a certain diversity in attitudes towards becoming an organ donor. However, the majority of respondents express a positive attitude towards this idea or have not yet decided on an opinion on this matter. In order to promote organ donation in society, it is important to carry out information work and education on this topic, as well as take into account the opinions and beliefs of all groups of people in order to achieve broad support and understanding. Thus, improvement of the situation is possible only through educational initiatives, improvement of legislation and the creation of a system that would support donors and ensure their safety, which ultimately will lead to an increase in the number of people willing to become donors and, consequently, to saving the lives of many people.
