Interrogation as a Basis for Decision-Making to Verify Evidence on the Scene with Minor Participation

The on scene testimony verification involving a minor is a rather complex investigative action, requiring a range of preparatory measures. During the interrogation preceding the on scene verification, a significant amount of information is obtained about the incident and the characteristics of the minor being interrogated. The completeness of this information makes the on scene verification more efficient. The purpose of the article is to determine the relationship between on scene verification of testimony and the preceding interrogation; substantiate the importance of studying the minor's personality during interrogation for the subsequent decision to conduct an on scene verification; formulate questions to be clarified during interrogation for the decision to conduct an on scene verification. The purpose of this article is to determine the nature of the relationship between the on scene verification of testimony and the interrogation preceding it; to substantiate the importance of studying the identity of a minor during interrogation for subsequent decision-making during the on scene verification of testimony; to formulate questions to be clarified during interrogation for decision-making during the on scene verification of testimony. Research methods: systemic-structural method, methods of analysis and synthesis. Results: the study shows that interrogation and on scene verification of testimony, despite differences in their cognitive nature, are closely interrelated: information obtained during the interrogation of a minor, including data on his or her identity, allows for an informed decision to conduct an on scene verification of testimony, increase the effectiveness of preparation for investigative action, and plan the tactics of its implementation.
