Road fund as an effective system of financing highways in the Kyrgyz Republic

This scientific article shows the importance of roads for the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic, and examines the need for their further development. The article examines various aspects of the development of the road network: structural, technological, financial and economic. At the same time, attention is focused on the importance of attracting significant financial investments, which necessitates solving the problem of finding sustainable sources of financing. In the Kyrgyz Republic, solving this problem requires a systematic approach to financing the road network, in the context of insufficient funds from the state and local budgets. Taking this situation into account, the article examines the role of the road fund as an important source of financing for roads in the Kyrgyz Republic, both for the purposes of proper maintenance and timeliness of ongoing repair and construction work, and for the development of the road network as a whole. The article, based on world practice and theoretical research, defines the road fund, its goals and objectives, and presents a set of measures to ensure the scaling of projects for the development of roads in the Kyrgyz Republic.
