Progress in digestion physiology of agricultural animals at the twentieth century (principal conception)

The author has generalized the principal achievements of digestion physiology in ruminant mainly have been made at the twentieth century. The data of literature and the results of investigations of physiological mechanisms of digestion obtained in the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Physiology, Biochemistry and Feeding of Agricultural Animals are discussed. The author has described the six types of digestion, the processes of metabolism and transfer of enzymes, substrates and substances. The series of fundamental conceptions of digestion physiology in ruminants were formulated.
