Strengths and weaknesses of the current criminal procedure code of Russia

The article analyzes positive and negative sides of the Criminal Procedure Code of Russia, which have become obvious since its introduction in 2001. The main regulations of the Criminal Procedure Code requiring improvement are described. The author formulates concrete proposals aimed at the improvement of crime control by means of the updated Criminal Procedure Code. The author''s conclusions can be implemented in the law enforcement practice.
