Drivers of sustainable development of socio-economic systems in the context of digitalization: a regional aspect

The article attempts to assess the impact of digitalization processes on the development of regional socio-economic systems. The relevance of the study is due to the fact that the digitalization of the economic, environmental and social spheres has a significant impact on the development of regions, and the presence of a time lag between the introduction of digital technologies and obtaining the effect from them requires the development of new methods for assessing such an impact. To calculate and analyze the relationship between regional sustainability indicators and digitalization indicators, methods for calculating relative values, analytical grouping methods, and a graphical method (bar and bar charts) were used. An integral indicator of the level of digital maturity of the region was considered as a factor sign, and particular indicators of the economic, environmental and social spheres were considered as effective ones. As a result of data analysis, the relationship between the level of digital maturity of the region was revealed only with the economic component of sustainability, which was considered the gross regional product per capita. The authors believe that digitalization penetrates into all spheres of life, but the existing methods do not allow to fully assess the degree of influence of these processes on the development of the region. This issue requires further research.
