Drainage of vitreous cavity in cases of painful glaucoma in terminal stage of desease

27 eyes with painful glaucoma in terminal stage of disease were examined. In all 27 cases posterior detachment of vitreous body and presence of corresponding retrohyaloid space was found. To eliminate painful hypertension syndrome and preserving the eye as an organ all those patients underwent surgical operations of drainage of vitreous cavity by original method. The painful syndrome was eliminated in 26 cases from 27. Time of observing amounted 2-30 months. The dependence of pain level from intraocular pressure was not found.
