Polearm weapon of the nomads from Volga - Urals region in the X-XIV centuries

The article analyzes the spear weapons of nomads including spears and darts which were discovered in the steppes of Volga-Urals region. The author proposes the classification of weapons based on their morphological features. Iron spears can be divided into sections according to the method of their attachment to the end of shaft, into groups according to the feather section form and into types according to the feather form. The author discusses the methods of use of spears in hand-to-hand combat. He guesses that the spearheads have a number of analogues in Eurasia steppes, and are dated to the X-XIV centuries.
