The article is devoted to the problem of studying the economic structure of nobleestates, which were not only the place of life of landowners, but also the center ofeconomic and cultural development of the surrounding territories. Noble estateswere the centers of administrative management of private land holdings, and ingeneral they can be considered provincial centers of socio-political nature. Theformation of the noble estate is inextricably linked with the design of the nobility. The history of the formation of local land ownership and agricultural productionwas intertwined with the development of noble estates; much depended on thepeculiarities of political self-determination of the Russian nobility. The nature andmethod of management depended on the category of noble estates. Only a fairlyrich noble family could save estate with numerous servants, lavish hospitality, stables and kennels; the life of the middle and petty nobility were more similar topeasant life. The estate should be perceived as a sphere of private life of the Russiannobility, and in fact, can be considered an element of economic independence andsocio-political isolation.
