The architectural and park ensembles of manorial estates in Samara province in the end of XIX - beginning of XX centuries

The Russian estate and its owners represented one of the most important elements in the culture of the past centuries. The research demonstrates the rich variety of the types of manorial estates in Samara province. As the author argues, the examination of architectural and park ensembles helps us to reconstruct a socio-psychological portrait of a noble landowner. The article deals with large estates of famous persons as well as with estates belonged to less-known noblemen who also played a prominent role in the history of Samara province and Russia in whole.
