Once more about power

In the article, the editor-in-chief of «Vlast'» journal reviews a new monograph by professor A. Chernyshov «Power as an Eternal Engine», which presents an analysis of the phenomenon of power and various aspects of its implementation in the modern Russian society. Evaluating extremely positive the mentioned monograph, the author remodels the focus of the study of power towards its cultural understanding. In this connection, he puts a number of new issues related to the comprehension of the legitimization of power and trust in the conditions of the network information society. The author also dwells on the problem of intellectual romanticism in contrast with the cynicism of the political technology approach to power.
