Based on works of art of the 19th-20th centuries (mostly prose), typical motives of “literary” and/or “female” suicides (thanatological images) are identified in the coordinates “life - death - suicide” and broad cultural, historical and philosophical contexts with clarification of the aesthetic relationship between art and reality.
