Natural knowledge of god in the works of the Church fathers and problems of the modern dialogue between science and theology

The article considers the Holy Fathers’ attitude towards the issues of studying natural world as an aspect of knowledge of God, and the problem of relationships between science and theology. In the light of the Orthodox teaching on λόγοι of being it is proposed to overcome the excesses of both fundamentalist creationism and atheistic evolutionism. Methods of solving the problem of harmonizing findings of experimental science with the Divine Revelation data are suggested. Repeatedly emphasized is the relevance of theology for modern science in the fields of metaphysics and ethics.
