The COVID-19 factor and its impact on the Russian tourism industry: statistical analysis

The analysis of the influence of the “COVID-19” factor on the state of activity of the tourism industry enterprises in the current year is carried out. On the basis of official statistical information, a sharp decrease in the volume of traffic of incoming and outgoing tourist flows and, as a result, a drop in the income of tourism industry enterprises is shown. The study revealed the need to optimize the statistical accounting of internal visitors. The measures taken by the central executive authorities made it possible in the second half of 2020 to intensify the activities of tourism industry enterprises in organizing travel within, first of all, the Russian Federation.
