The article presents the results of studying objective circumstances that affect the victimization of minors from violent crimes against life and health. The empirical base of the study was made up of materials from 310 criminal cases of murder, causing harm to the health of children of various degrees of severity, committed on the territory of the Krasnoyarsk territory, the Irkutsk region and the Republic of Khakassia. These studies have shown that the key factor in victimization of minors is family distress, expressed in various forms. The second most important factor is the alcoholization of society, which negatively affects the safety of minors both in the family and household sphere and beyond.
