The article presents biography of a famous Russian pharmacist and chemist, Professor Nicolai A. Alexandrov (18581936). His role in the development of Russian pharmaceutical science and chemistry is reviewed. Brief review of Nicolai A. Alexandrov’s scientific, educational, and public achievements is provided; his contribution to the organization and development of the Department of Pharmaceutical Science and Pharmacognosy of the Tomsk University is discussed.
