Helminthofauna of birds of 5 orders (Passeriformes, Coraciiformes, Piciformes, Coraciiformes, Falconiformes and Strigiformis) in the territory of Samarskaya Luka are studied in 2009-2012. 41 species of helminthes were registered in birds: Trematoda - 17, Cestoda - 13, Nematoda - 10 and Acanthocephala - 1. The birds of the order Passeriformes with the largest number of parasites are noted for the greatest diversity of helminthes. Seven species of helminthes were recorded in the birds of prey of the Falconiformes. Of the others orders of birds, helminthes were found only in one bird species: in the European bee-eater (Coraciiformes) - 5 species of parasites; in the short-eared owl (Strigiformes) - 2 and in the great spotted woodpecker (Piciformes) - 1 species. Two species of parasites, acanthocephalan Prosthorynchus gracilis and nematode Chandlerella sinensis were found in birds of the fauna of Russia for the first time. Five species of parasites were noted for the first time in the Volga basin: cestodes Emberizotaenia reductorhyncha, Sobolevitaenia verulamii, trematodes Brachylaima mesostoma, Mosesia amplavaginata and nematode Aonchotheca exilis. New hosts are noted for the 13 species of helminthes.
