Fakes: the lawfulness of the novel in the Criminal Code

This article deals with a new composition of the crime, which provides for criminal liability for the public dissemination of deliberately false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the execution by state bodies of the Russian Federation of their powers. This corpus delicti was introduced into the Russian criminal law in March 2022 as a response to the spread of fake information. The article discusses the reasons and goals of criminalization of this action, as well as the composition of the crime.
