Phenomenon of «culture in culture»: incidence rate of development of depressive disorders, posttraumatic disorder in representatives of Tatar diaspora of Novosibirsk and Izhevsk

The purpose of this research was to investigate the frequency of depression and posttraumatic stress disorders (PTSD) development by the representatives of Tatar diaspora. The group of observations included 20 Tatar families with the total number 52 individuals, among them 18 women, 16 men and 18 children, among them 10 girls and 8 boys. The researche revealed that the Tatar Diaspora has the following characteristic education styles: «small wash out», authoritarian hypersocialization and lasting symbiosis. The families with the strict cultural customs have higher level of depression, posttraumatic signs and dissociation than the families without such customs
