Phenomenon of the motherland image in the collective consciousness of primitive and ancient societies

The article analyzes formation of a relatively closed circle of characteristics and descriptors of the phenomenon of the Motherland image in the collective consciousness of primitive and ancient societies. On the basis of comparative analysis of scientific concepts, historiographic data and literary sources the author identifies the starting preconditions of the Motherland image as an attribute of spiritual life of the first social associations.
