Contemporary dance, like other art forms, being inseparable from society, forced to undergo a rather voluminous transformation process in the postmodern era. Having discarded many frames and limitations, it has transformed into something more than just a dance, it has become a full-fledged language accessible to everyone. Thanks to the introduction of technical equipment in the field of creativity, there have been many metamorphoses that have allowed to expand the boundaries of the possibilities of art. Recent decades have had a particularly strong impact on contemporary dance and its popularity in society. He has firmly stood on his feet in the ranks of mass pop culture, which is covered in the article. The key problem of the XXI century - the problem of identity, also has not remained untouched by contemporary dance. The last year turned out to be extremely difficult for all mankind. The COVID19 pandemic has made its own adjustments in all areas, affecting the world of choreography, which allowed us to bring the communication process to a new level.
