Phenomenology of religion institution: social function and dysfunction in the state system

The article deals with the perception of religion as a social institution in the society. The study is carried out in the framework of functionalism (R. Merton) and phenomenology (A. Schütz). The authors carry out phenomenological analysis of functional relationships between religious identity (social group) and the basic elements of the local community (state). The article also examines the complex consequences of the failure of religion institution functionality.
