Working with a complex of fragmentary information, the author of the article generally restores and reviews the course of the history of documentary filmmaking in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The approval of the project "Siberia Yenisei" in 2018 increases the need to reconstruct cultural and historical memory, in particular, the history of regional cinema, since the formation of a positive image of our region is becoming increasingly relevant. No less significant reason for the study of this historical issue was the lack of sufficient theoretical development of the available empirical material: memoirs of participants in the events - Krasnoyarsk screenwriters and directors, publications in the periodical press, documentaries. There is an extensive scientific base on the history of Russian documentary films, but the work of Krasnoyarsk directors has not been given due attention. This research will help to continue the historical and cultural study of the issue in the future and will serve as a foundation for the historical analysis of key events, trends, and features related to the documentary filmmaking of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The chronicle of the cinematic experience of the region preserves the cultural and historical memory of "Siberia of the Yenisei", which will help to educate modern youth, instill cinematic literacy to new generations of Siberian documentary filmmakers. It is worth noting that this material on the history of documentary cinema as a phenomenon of regional culture is not exhaustive and detailed.
