This review presents a general description of the fundamental ontosemantic analysis of the language of religion, undertaken by the Russian religious scholar M. N. Eresko in the book The Language of Religion: Meaning and Symbol . The author proposes an original ontosemantic methodology and builds a scheme for the ontological, semantic and symbological discourses of the language of religion. As a productive result of the undertaken analysis of the language of religion, the author asserts the necessity and importance of developing a cognitive discourse about religion in the context of creating religionology as a unified science of religion.
