The article analyzes the originality of Lev N. Gumilyov’s creative activity at the intersection of humanities and sciences, his innovations. We emphasize that Gumilyov’s scientific and theoretical oeuvre reflects a turning period, characterized by changes of paradigms in science, styles of scientific thinking and narrative styles. It is noted that the scientist adhered to the principle of methodological pluralism, and this was especially evident in the post-perestroika years of the coming publicity and pluralism of opinions in science. The doctrine of Lev N. Gumilyov accumulated all major trends of modern scientific cognition, it by no means eclectic, but represents a conceptual integrity.
