The article provides a systematic presentation of the views of the Russian thinker and romantic writer V. F. Odoevsky on humanity, society and culture. The author shows the unity of Odoevsky's anthropological and socio-cultural views, which follow from the principle of pantheistic universalism. The Russian philosopher justified the ideal of a harmonious, fully developed personality in anthropology, the harmony of rational and non-rational ways of knowledge in psychology, and the need to create a universal Russian civilization that resists the one-sidedness of European cultural principles in the field of culture. The author characterizes Odoevsky's Slavophile project as a special type of the concept of national-cultural messianism, in which the slogan of national identity was combined with the requirement to master the Western European cultural tradition.
