Philosophical and cultural aspects of the mimetic design

The article deals with the philosophical and cultural aspects of the mimetic approach to design. Particular attention is paid to the semantic dynamics of mimesis in the culture and contemporary design. Various manifestations of the design as a carrier of such meanings are evaluated. The authors believe that the design needs to consider the traditional experience of creating an object and interacting with it in order to find the ways of resolving the environmental problems of our time and improve the socio-cultural status of the design as a mechanism of cultural inheritance and spiritual content in everyday life.
