The article discusses some aspects of the philosophical and legal doctrine of the Scottish School of Common Sense. The special attention is paid to views of its main representatives on the issues regarding the concept of law. The author studies ideas of T. Reid, J. Beattie, J. Oswald, D. Stewart on a natural law, rights and responsibilities, proprietary rights, a right to liberty in terms of the common sense.
