The financial and economic situation of the region's industry through the prism of the analysis of the activities of the largest enterprises

In the context of the unfavorable economic situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic, large businesses, for the most part, turned out to be more stable, as they had a good margin of financial strength. In turn, small and medium-sized businesses survived the pandemic more hard - a huge number of self-employed, individual entrepreneurs and small firms lost financial stability and were forced to curtail their activities. At the same time, maintaining business activity in the regions during the economic crisis is an important strategic task, since it is aimed at stabilizing the internal general economic situation and is a key element of the entire economic system. In the course of the study, an assessment of the financial stability of the largest enterprises of the Kursk region in the context of the economic crisis amid the coronavirus pandemic in the context of the TOP-10 largest enterprises in terms of revenue, the prevailing trends and their causes were identified. It has been established that even in 2021 the TOP-10 largest enterprises of the Kursk region managed to maintain the upward trend in revenue compared to the level of 2020, the assessment of liquidity indicators, financial stability, business activity and efficiency showed that the situation is ambiguous. In terms of profitability, the leaders among the considered enterprises of the region are Mikhailovsky GOK JSC, Agropromkomplektatsiya-Kursk LLC and Kursk-Agro LLC. Among the TOP-10 largest enterprises in the region, the threat of loss of financial stability in 2020 was absent only in Mikhailovsky GOK JSC and Kursk-Agro LLC, while in the remaining enterprises the probability of bankruptcy was quite high.
