The oil sector of the Republic of Chad plays a key role in the economic development of the country, providing a significant portion of government revenues and attracting the attention of international investors. Since the start of oil production in the Republic of Chad in 2003, thanks to the Chad-Cameroon oil pipeline project, the country has become a significant player in the African oil market. However, investment in this sector faces a number of serious challenges, including political instability, lack of infrastructure, environmental risks and problems with transparency of revenue management. This article analyzes the key factors affecting the investment attractiveness of the Chad oil sector, considers major projects, such as the development of the Doba field, and assesses their economic and social impacts. Based on the analysis, recommendations are offered to improve the investment climate in the Republic of Chad, including strengthening the institutional framework, developing infrastructure and strengthening environmental standards. The article will be of interest to researchers working on investment in the oil sector of developing countries, as well as to practitioners working in the field of energy and sustainable development.
