The paper deals with the problem of financial support for the imperial troops quartered in the Derbent garrison in 1722-1735. It was part of the Lower Corps created for the management and economic development of lands along the western coast of the Caspian Sea, which were incorporated into the Russian Empire as a result of the Persian campaign of Peter the Great. In the Derbent garrison, there were both regular troops of the Imperial army and irregular ones, consisting mainly of Ukrainian and Don Cossacks. The study of archival sources makes it possible to restore a complete picture of the troops’ financing. The types of financial support were salary payments to officers and soldiers, payments for food, relocation allowance, and payments for accommodation. A significant part of payments was made from local revenues.
