Financial space: essence and elements

In the context of the transformation of the financial system under the influence of digitalization, the category of financial space, which is one of the most basic conditions for the existence of financial relations, acquires special significance. In this article, the author clarified the concept of «financial space» and showed its derivation from economic, monetary, institutional and social spaces. An analogy is drawn between the financial space and the platform, which sets common basic standards of interaction for its participants. The specific elements of the financial space, without which its functioning is impossible, are considered. The specifics of financial relations implemented in this type of space are determined. The difference between this concept and the concepts of «financial market» and «financial environment» is shown. According to the author’s point of view, the basic element of the financial space is a mechanism that provides the necessary level of trust between the parties.
