Financial mechanisms to ensure liquidation works by subsoil users

One of the priority sectors of the Russian economy is traditionally the extraction and processing of hydrocarbons. Despite the windfall profits for both the budget and corporations, oil production is potentially dangerous for local ecosystems. The article discusses the features of the formation and use of liquidation funds of subsoil users as a tool for solving the problems of abandoned assets and compensation for environmental damage. The author investigated the domestic experience of paying attention to targeted compensation payments, as well as the features of a new mechanism for financial support of works to eliminate the consequences of negative environmental impact.
