The article is devoted to financial matters that were discussed at the Hundred Chapter Council of 1551. It is concluded that at the Council there was no collision between the “Josephites” and “non-possessors” in the sense of opponents and defenders of church and monastic land ownership. Disputes among the participants of the Council were over financial matters related to the participation of different groups of Russian clergy in addressing the financial problems of the state and among the bishops, monastic and married clergy, because between them there were disagreements of a financial nature.
