In this article, the author studies various financial questions that were considered by the governing organ of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia in the 1920’s. Given the increasingly difficult historical context (the collapse of empires, inflation, political pressure), ROCOR hierarchs were able to offer real aid not only to Orthodox parishes in the countries of the Russian diaspora, but also to citizens in the Soviet Union. Te Synod of Bishops needed to make various decisions, ranging from the purchase of firewood for their office to the decoration of churches and support of ecclesiastic missions, from subscriptions to the Synodal journal to aid for the victims of famine and the construction of facilities for war veterans. Leters of request from individuals were not lost in the large volume of correspondence, and each person could count on support. Te reputation of the hierarchs on the Synods - Metropolitan Anthony, Metropolitan Eulogius, Archbishop Teophanes, Bishops Gabriel and Hermogenes, as well as that of the Synodal secretary Ye. Makharoblidze - promoted stability and organization in the religious life of Orthodox emigres
