The distribution of rare and requiring protection plant species in different types of communities in the boreal forests of the Southern Urals are discussed. The largest number of rare species have been found in the relict communities of green moss spruce forests in the Ufa Plateau, in the zone of coniferous and deciduous forests. The xerophytic green moss and lichen types of pine forests (association Cladonio-Pinetum) are very poor in rare plant species.
