Phytopreparations and phytotherapy in veterinary medicine

The article presents the results of the analysis of the domestic pharmaceutical market of veterinary drugs obtained from medicinal plant material and registered for use in Russia. Phytopreparations for animals have been found to occupy a modest place among the entire range of medicinal products for animals - 9.3% of the total number of registered medicinal products, excluding biopharmaceuticals. Among the known dosage forms, the most common are liquid ones: solutions amount to 45.8%; infusions, tinctures and drops - to 6.9%; suspensions and emulsions - to 6.3% of the total number of phytopreparations. Other dosage forms include: tablets - 5.6%, powders/granules/dusts - 4.9%, ointments/creams - 4.2%, sprays/aerosols - 3.5%, gels - 2.7%, plates - 2.1%, pastes - 1.3%, collars - 1.3%, capsules - 0.8%, oils, plasters, sublimate checkers - 0.7% each, based on the total number of phytopreparations.
