Investment activity of the population on the Russian stock market

This article examines the investment activity of the population on the Russian stock market for 2018-2020. In the modern world, the economy is constantly evolving. People are constantly looking for sources of additional income and ways not only to preserve their capital, but also to increase. The securities market is gaining popularity among the population for investing money. The definition of the stock market and the peculiarity of the securities market from others are given. Decrease in profitability on deposits to the lowest values for many years stimulated depositors to search for potentially more profitable investment instruments. This trend is confirmed by an increase in the share of Russian citizens who consider it unprofitable to keep their savings in a bank account and prefer other forms of savings. As a result, in recent years, there has been an increase in the interest of the Russian population in purchasing securities through brokers, trustees, purchasing units of mutual funds, life insurance products and others. The analysis of the dynamics of clients on brokerage services with credit and non-financial organizations, the composition of individual portfolios and their dynamics, the structure of the volume of exchange transactions in the stock market is carried out. Based on the results of the data obtained, conclusions are drawn and an assessment of the investment activity of the population is given.
