Physiosurgical treatment methods for virus-associated cervical lesions

The review is devoted to physiosurgical methods used in the treatment of virus-associated cervical lesions. It is known that persistent infection with oncogenic human papillomavirusn (HPV) types cause precancerous cervical lesions and cervical cancer. Early detection and treatment of virus-associated cervical lesions can prevent cervical cancer. The paper presents such treatment methods as diathermoconization, radiowave surgery, laser destruction, cryodestruction, argon plasma ablation and photodynamic therapy. Advantages and disadvantages of these methods are considered in detail.
