The research considered how the phenomenon of foreign culture gradually became not only an accessible but also a familiar element of Russian culture and demonstrated why feng shui became a popular and widespread phenomenon among residents of the Russian Far East. A brief review of religious life in China and Russia is presented; their similar development stages are discovered. There has been a segment of Russian adherents to a new religious and philosophical teaching (feng shui) during a period of three decades. It is not institutionalized, however, it is a part of religious and cultural life, business, Russian Internet.
