Flora of southeastern Sakhalin island

Flora of the southeastern part of the island Sakhalin are diverse in terms of species composition and ecological groups. The article provides characteristics of 714 species of vascular plants belonging to 392 genera and 112 families. Among them there are woody (97 species), semi-woody (13 species), herbaceous (595 species) plants and creepers (9 species). Most species of wild plants belong to heliophytes (495 species) in relation to light and mesophytes (432 species) in relation to moisture. The Red Book of the Sakhalin Region includes 34 species of higher vascular plants in the southeastern region of the island Sakhalin (4,8 % of the total number of species), 24 of which are included in the Red Book of the Russian Federation. Habitat disturbance as a result of anthropogenic impact is the main limiting factor for the flora of the southeastern part of the island Sakhalin.
