The paper addresses the issue of interdisciplinary knowledge in modern science, attempting to describe the main forms of interpenetration of disciplines. The author describes the concept of disciplinarity that prevails in modern science, discusses the current criticism of this approach and substantiates the need for a multipolar research approach in organizing research activities in modern university.
