The formation of the Ladies’ Charity prison committee in the Russian penitentiary bodies according to the European experience

The author undertakes an attempt to analyze the formation and development of the charitable Society for the care of prisons as well as an evolution of Russian public and charitable penitentiary practices according to the example of the similar systems in European countries. Over the past decade, Russia has undergone significant changes, both in the political system and in social and economic relations, that appropriately predetermined a requirement in improvement of criminal law politics. The analyze of such practice allows us to consider both negative and positive significant aspects of cooperation between penitentiary bodies of region, which is valuable for optimization of the contemporary penal system and dissemination of positive regional experience in activities of penal centers of Russian Federation.
