Based on Pierre Bourdieu's social field theory the article considers a model of establishment and keeping of gender stereotypes of consumer behaviour. Noting the role of stereotypes in forming of an individual's social competence in gender relations, the author concludes that adopting of the gender model resources can help a person to join more successfully the social interaction field and to develop a social relationship network.
