Formation and development of regional clusters as points economic growth of the territory

The authors pay special attention to the priority areas of development of the economy of the Russian Federation, where one of the fundamental factors for increasing the competitiveness of the regional economy is the formation of such integrated structures, enterprises that will be able to use the most effective types of resources such as labor, production, material, technological and others. It is such innovative structures that regional clusters should become. The article assesses the current state of formation and development of regional clusters in the Russian Federation on the example of the Republic of Kalmykia. The aim of the study is to develop directions for the formation of regional clusters as an instrument of effective social and economic policy of the region. In particular, a strategic analysis of positive and negative factors characterizing the potential for formation of cluster structures of the region is presented, the creation of an agro-industrial cluster including two subclusters: meat and fish.
