Formation of the collection of perennial herbaceous north American representatives of the aster family in the Main Botanical Garden of the Russian Academy of Sciences

Introduction of perennial North American representatives of Asteraceae Bercht. & J. Presl family in the Main Botanical Garden of the Russian Academy of Sciences has been carried out since 1946. During this time, a set of 22 genera and 65 species has been studied. At the moment, introductory work is in progress. The research paper includes both widespread genera and species, and little-known representatives of the North American family in the cultural flora of Russia. A long period of research revealed the most resistant plant species. The result of the work was genetic complexes creation, some of them represent genetic diversity of certain cultures.
