Development of communicational skills of maritime university students

The article proves the importance of development of communicational skills of maritime university students starting from the early stages of professionalization. The article considers the empirical research results of students’ communicative characteristics, including the results of the questionnaire designed by the author to reveal the causes of communicative barriers. The author presents communication training that consists of six main sections covering essential competencies of marine specialists. The article describes the research results, according to which there is a need for reinforcement of maritime university students’ communicative competencies by means of the communication training, which may help to cope with specific difficulties of their future profession.
