Development of the corpus of Orenburg civil officialdom in the last quarter of the XVIII - early XIX century

The article studies the structure of the Orenburg civil officialdom during the period of state administration reform. Analysis of the officials’ service records of the Orenburg province has shown that the social structure of the officials in general complied with all-Russian tendencies of bureaucracy development. The data of the officials’ service records of 1785 confirms the general trend toward increase of the number of military in the civil service, but the data of 1806 indicate decrease of the number of retired military in the civil service, which does not allow making firm conclusions.
